Dr Sish (sisiresh) Chakrabarty brief


Dr Chakrabarty is engaged with Cardiology practice for over 30 years. With his multiple international qualifications and specialist experience from many countries around the world including south east Asia, central Europe, USA and number of major centres of excellence university teaching hospitals from north to south in the UK, he is an internationally recognised Cardiologist and Heart Specialist.

Dr Chakrabarty began his career with a science honours degree followed by his medical qualification and obtained further a post graduate doctorate medical qualification and was appointed as a divisional medical specialist in a central government hospital under Indian government administrative service (IAS gazette medical rank) ministry of health. Subsequently he moved to UK for further advancement of his career in late eighties.

In the UK, Dr Chakrabarty started with an academic scholarship at the Leeds University and worked at the university hospital Cardiology department and obtained a master’s degree in Cardiology. He then immediately received another education scholarship from the Committees of Vice Chancellors and Principals of the UK and was appointed as a Cardiology research fellow at the St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial Collage of science and Medicine in London. He then further received a British Heart Foundation scholarship and continued his Cardiology research and registrar training and completed his doctorate thesis to obtain a PH.D in cardiology from Imperial college, London.

Dr Chakrabarty then completed further advance specialist medical training and worked in many University teaching hospitals in the UK, including Universities of Oxford, UCL, London, Royal Brompton Heart Hospital, King’s College hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital. With the wide range of specialist training and advance experience Dr Chakrabarty successfully completed his full general medicine and all round Cardiology specialist qualification programmes and he went even further and also achieved an additional Nuclear medicine and Nuclear cardiology specialist qualification.

He received double specialist accreditation and double specialist certification of the general medical council (GMC) of the UK and abroad.

Dr Chakrabarty worked as a specialist Consultant and Heart Specialist for over 20 years in many renowned university teaching hospitals in the UK, including Guys and St Thomas’ hospital London, Kings college hospital London, St Bartholomew’s hospital London, St George’s hospital London, Papworth Heart hospital, Cambridge University, and recently Edinburgh Royal Infirmary University hospital, east sussex hospitals and as clinical examiner and academic at the King’s college university medical school London.

Dr Chakrabarty has extensive educational, academic and research accomplishments and published number of scientific and clinical research papers and presented in numerous academic and scientific seminars, congresses and conferences world wide. With his vast experience in academic, research and clinical achievements he had been awarded with number of prestigious fellowship awards, apart from his double masters and double doctorate qualifications, including European Board Cardiologist specialist (EBSC), Fellow of European cardiac society (FESC) and also Fellow of American College of Cardiology (FACC) USA.
